Breaking Ground - May 27th, 2026
On May 27th, 2026 the Culpeper Fiber Project broke ground and buried its first conduit along Route 3, outside of the Town of Culpeper.
This is the first step to bring broadband internet access to Culpeper Citizens. Phase 1 includes areas in Stevensburg, Richardsville, and Lignum.
The partnership between Culpeper County, VA and Orange County Broadband Authority (FiberLync) was officially established in February 2026. The project is expected to pass about 6200 addresses throughout the county.

Work in Progress -
June 4th, 2026
Work continues to progress toward the Stevensburg area from the Town of Culpeper. Crews are working along Route 3 and are expected to add additional work zones along Stevensburg Rd. to reach Lenn Park.
FiberLync representatives will be distributing flyers to homes and businesses along the route to let citizens know we will be in the area.
Work Zones are Here!
The photos below show mainline fiber being installed. You can view examples at the end of the gallery to see what completed mainline and handholes look like. This is the type of construction scheduled to begin in Phase 1 this May.
